Acorn Deck House Company, in collaboration with Top Notch Contracting, is proud to announce their 2025 Best Sustainable Industrial Design Award by the International Furnishings and Design Association, New England Chapter.
This recognition celebrates commitment to delivering transformative environmental solutions using innovative design theory and modern architecture principles. The teams collaborated from the inception to the finished construction project, which resulted in the Metropolitan home, located just outside Boston.
Michael Hawkes, Acorn Deck House Company’s lead architect, reflects on the Metropolitan, “This flexible and adaptable house uses on-site renewable energy and a tight envelope to achieve Net-Zero environmental ratings, while the connected yet separate rooms are unique inside and out.”
The 2025 @ifda Best Sustainable Industrial Design Award recognizes how Acorn Deck House Company continues to evolve with the ever-changing building codes in the industry. Their design team incorporates tasteful design principles and environmental factors while prefabricating the world’s most beautiful, weathertight, energy efficient homes.
