Drumlin: Returning This MCM To Its Roots

Drumlin is an Architectural Collaboration that returned this MCM to its roots with clean lines and abundant light incorporating today’s sensibilities.

Foley Fiore Architecture asked that the homeowner bring Acorn Deck House aboard to bring back the original feel of this 1971 home to counter a previous addition to the classic deck house that was not working for the family.

With just under 3000 sf of finished space, the architects created a thoughtful new design and layout, and were able to coordinate with our team of experts to make the addition cohesive with the original deck house using our signature beam and decking and crafted mahogany windows in new and innovative ways.

We were also able to craft open riser mahogany stairs and glass waffle door for the new main entryway and staircase, as well as supply matching mahogany windows, doors, and exterior trim throughout the rest of the house.

Our flexible approach meant we were able to accommodate the client’s wish list along with the architect’s vision, resulting in a crisp functional family space celebrating light and shadow.

A Fresh Take on the Artist’s Studio

Whether cluttered or perfectly minimal, sun‑drenched or dim and atmospheric, the artist’s studio reveals how art comes to life long before it reaches the gallery wall.

They wanted to maximize wall space with high ceilings, long walls, and an upper mezzanine. Their hope was to have indirect sunlight for most of the space to avoid shadows while working with natural light reflection. The couple wished to incorporate a swinging garage door, a utility sink for washing paint supplies, a bathroom with a small upright shower to spray out screenprints, and a side entry door adjacent to their existing garage. They also needed a 150 square foot spray room confined from the rest of the studio, with proper ventilation to accommodate larger works.

The Acorn Deck House Company created a traditional post & beam design that integrated all the clients’ needs. The natural beauty of the mahogany windows, railings, and stairs showcases the millwork done by the Acorn Deck House craftsmen. The exposed Douglas Fir beams compliment the angled roof lines & exterior cedar siding, while the careful placement of the windows makes the sunlight ideal for creating artwork.

Artist’s studios such as this remind us that creativity isn’t magical – it’s human. It’s messy, deliberate, playful, and deeply personal. Some studios are meticulously organized, while others are disheveled. Some spaces contain musical instruments, while others contain paint canvases. The 2025 PRISM Awards ceremony took place in Boston with a panel of expert judges hailing from real estate offices, architecture firms, and construction agencies. “The PRISM Awards recognize the finest projects and outstanding achievements of builders, remodelers, developers, project owners, architects, land planners, marketing and advertising firms, interior designers, and other professionals in the home building industry.”

Both new awards were given in the New Construction category for the same project: The Metropolitan . Millwork – The difference between simple prefabrication & luxury craftsmanship

Acorn Deck House Company utilizes a streamlined prefabrication system to create custom homes in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility.

Prefabrication is an umbrella term for components that are fabricated , or manufactured, in a climate-controlled indoor environment before ( pre ) being shipped to a job site. There are many types of prefabricated homes, the most common of which are modular and panelized.

Acorn Deck House Company does not currently offer modular prefabrication, but instead utilizes a panelized system, which has many benefits including greater flexibility in design. In panelized prefabrication, designers are given freedom to translate construction drawings into panelized plans for the millwork shop. The wall panels are then prebuilt, the posts and beams are precut, and every component is labeled to fit together seamlessly on-site. Once prefabricated, the components are shipped to the building site to be assembled and finished by a builder.

Most prefabrication construction companies outsource their parts, but Acorn Deck House Company carpenters build their own signature custom parts. This fine millwork includes custom doors, stairs, windows, railings, jambs, and baseboards. The level of craftsmanship differentiates Acorn Deck House Company, and these finished homes are made of the finest high-end, naturally rot-resistant mahogany, cedar, and Douglas Fir parts.

A Deck House in Harpswell, Maine

When Daniel King and Meghan Lavery first saw their home in Maine, they were at an appointment in Portland. The listing popped up, and they were instantly enamored with its midcentury modern bones. They called the broker right away and were the first people to tour this Harpswell house. “We loved that Harpswell was accessible to Portland,” says Meghan, “but that it was also a working fisherman town near the midcoast.” It is an Acorn Deck House built by William Berkes in the late 20th century, whose architecture is notable for post-and-beam construction and tall, angular ceilings.

The Many Ways to Determine the Vintage of a Deck House!

This blog explores some ways to determine the vintage of a Deck House, considering how new Deck Houses differ drastically in design, size, functionality, and environmental codes from those early years.

Acorn Deck House Company has been prefabricating houses since the late 1950s in Acton, MA. Many people have a preconceived notion of what a Deck House looks like, that is based on the earliest 1960s ranch style models with covered carports.

However, the company has remained committed to offering customers the finest luxury homes through decades of industry fads, and it continues to make improvements using only the finest materials: Western Red Cedar, Mahogany and Douglas Fir.

Deck House Components, 1959 To Today

Casements

In 1959 the casements and awnings were steel inserts and in 1974 Deck House started manufacturing their own mahogany sash.

Beams

Deck Houses are known for their exposed Douglas Fir beams at 8’ on centers (O.C.). From 1959 to the mid 1980s they were solid beams; but as the laminated beams became more popular, Deck House started using the laminated beams and stopped using the solid beams altogether.

Whether solid or laminated beams, Deck House started using beams 8’ O.C. for floor joists and rafters, as a post and beam style structure from 1959-1997.

Around 1997 Deck House changed the structural design of the floor system from beams as joists 8’ on center to web truss joists 16” – 19.2” O.C.

Sliders

Deck House supplied aluminum sliders from 1959-the late 1980s. In 1981, Deck House started manufacturing the mahogany slider to match the self-trimming window style. Then Deck House redesigned the mahogany slider frame in 1991.

Building Codes

One thing that forced change the most, in not only Deck Houses but the construction industry, is the constant change in building codes. Building codes force architects and builders to build structures to specific standards for safety and energy efficiency. These changes have affected stairs, railings, roof insulation thickness, utilities, glass, etc.

Since 1959 Deck House used local fabricators to weld custom beam hangers. We used about 400,000 until about 2008 when more and more areas were calling for specific engineered hangers. Deck House then changed to a Simpson universal CJT rated hanger.

Casement Window Operators

If you need a window operator for a mahogany casement window you can directly replace the 2-armed operator or convert the single arm to a 2-arm version.

~ A striking addition to a classic Deck House on the Cape, our design added a new mudroom connector to a new bedroom suite, with a screened porch and an expansive roof deck to capture views of Cape Cod Bay and the historic Edward Hopper Studio.

Wooden Tent

~ This exceptional addition carefully amended a classic prefab Stanmar A-frame on the Cape. Our company was uniquely qualified to understand the existing structure to respectfully and harmoniously extend the “wooden tent” into a more comfortable, expansive space for a large family to enjoy together. We also designed and fabricated a new detached carriage house, giving the customers more areas to unwind and sleep.

~ This repeat customer requested a vacation house that combined classic deck house elements with classic cape cod materials in a modern way. Boston Home Magazine Features A Deck House in Maine

The homeowners wanted to create a space that welcomed guests for frequent family gatherings. Acorn Deck House Company obliged by designing the home with a focus on indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces with a large, open great room and kitchen, expansive decks and a flexible layout to accommodate visitors. There is also a private master suite and roof deck, which showcases the views while maintaining privacy.

Headland is situated to take advantage of the site’s panoramic ocean views while still providing privacy from the neighboring property. The home’s solar orientation provides passive solar heat gains in the winter while the home’s deep overhangs provide shade for the large glass windows in the summer. The roofline was strategically designed to slope up towards the ocean to maximize daylight and the views.

The exposed post and beam construction allows for clear, open spaces throughout the home, but also embraces a connection with the land to invite the outside in. The aluminum clad windows, fiber cement siding and cedar trim facilitate lower maintenance without compromising the home’s quality or aesthetic.

Steve Levine: Meet the 2023 Wood Industry 40 Under 40

AS SEEN IN WOODWORKING NETWORK

“We are again proud to celebrate the commitment to excellence portrayed by some of the youngest, best, and brightest contributors to the woodworking industry in North America. This year’s team of honorees will join 282 alumni who have been recognized with this distinction in the past,” said Tim Fixmer, president and CEO of CCI Media, the parent of Woodworking Network.

At the Acton, Massachusetts-based custom homes prefabricator, Levine helped spearhead the transition from 2D AutoCAD building component drawings into 3D framing models. “Making this jump has eliminated much of the need for by-hand design, drafting, annotations, and revisions,” he says. “3D modeling/framing allows us to automate and optimize component design and increase accuracy and efficiency by a huge percent.” The panelization process for a large house has been reduced from over a month to just two weeks, “with much higher accuracy and nearly no mistakes down the road.”

Also, in his role as a CNC programmer, Levine revamped existing programs to increase efficiency and minimize labor requirements for every program/product run and helped “re-invent’ the mahogany windows designed and crafted by Acorn so they can be made in any configuration imaginable. At Acorn, Levine also is involved in architectural design.

Levine’s efforts extend beyond the immediate workplace. “I’ve also had the chance to help mentor/teach a recent high school graduate who was unsure of what he wanted/could do for his future,” and assisted in getting him a job in the industry.

“I’m also working on a program to work with a local technical high school to link students with Acorn Deck House to have regular factory tours and learning opportunities for classes and intern opportunities, with the hope of full-time employment after graduation.

How This Mid-Century Modern House Harnesses the Sun

This video visits the Schweikher House, built during the 1930s, to explore its passive solar techniques. The video was created by Stewart Hicks, an architectural design educator that leads studios and lecture courses as an Associate Professor in the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Courtside: A Spectacular Addition for Very Active Sons

Custom Addition: Multi-Use Home Basketball Court

When your very active sons love to play sports, and follow in their parents footsteps, it’s time to build them a place where they can release their energy, a place they can enjoy with their friends, and still hear the call to dinner. Plus, a place where parents can exercise or even play pickleball whenever there is free time day or night.

These Newton, MA parents commissioned Maryann Thompson Architects, in collaboration with Acorn Deck House, to design a custom basketball court and exercise area within the tight building code footprint in this densely populated neighborhood outside of Boston.

Courtside , designed by Maryann Thompson Architects and fabricated by Acorn Deck House Company, is a 1,588 sq.ft. basketball court, a workout room for parents and bathroom, attached to this beautiful home via a glass-lined breeze way.

The extensive use of cedar paneling and post & beam construction gives this elaborate home addition a warm and inviting feel which is enjoyed by the entire family.

How Prefab Construction Keeps The Noise Off-Site

Stick-built homes are completely constructed on-site. Your neighbors will hear every saw and hammer starting at 7:00am every morning for many long months, especially with the specifications of a larger custom home.

Conversely, an Acorn Deck House is mostly prefabricated in another location. House panels and interior millwork are constructed off-site in the optimal conditions of our climate-controlled indoor fabrication facility, which greatly reduces on-site construction noise and eliminates site-built uncertainties (i.e. weather) that delay progress.

Prefabricated components include all of the materials required to create a weather-tight shell, in weeks not months. Major components are meticulously precut and detailed for tight tolerances and an accurate fit based on your custom design.

Our proprietary millwork – including mahogany entry doors, mahogany windows and sliding glass doors, magnificent stair and rail systems and trim styles –are all handcrafted in our fabrication facility.

This off-site build minimizes construction noise and reduces on-site construction time, and offers these advantages:

Window sizes and shapes are manufactured to meet your desire for uninterrupted walls of glass as well as your need for privacy in certain areas
Specialty engineered floor systems offer superior strength and allow for installation of plumbing, heating and wiring with minimum on site cutting
Beams and other structural members are pre-cut and pre-drilled to conceal connecting hardware
Wall panels have tight tolerances and high structural integrity
Pre-engineering reduces framing time and dramatically reduces waste

The result is two opposing building site locations for this homeowner and the implications of siting the house differently at each location.

Cedar Creek is a petite house that was designed to fit the “grandfathered” existing footprint on its Barnstable, MA site. This nearly-1,200-square-foot home is designed as a nod to Acorn Deck House homes of the ’70s and ’80s, with a blend of traditional Cape Cod architectural features and concealed post-and-beam construction.

This home features one bedroom and two bathrooms, along with a large great room overlooking the site’s waterfront views. The thoughtful design also incorporates passive solar heating and cooling through the home’s siting and window placement, allowing passive cooling in the summer and warming in the winter.

Vernacular

2 bathrooms

Vernacular is a contemporary Cape designed for a wooded Martha’s Vineyard, MA site. This one-level vacation home is designed to welcome in the sun from morning until night. The abundance of natural light and inviting open spaces will make this home feel much larger than it really is.

The home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a great room that opens to an expansive outdoor patio. The great room features a cathedral ceiling, which makes the space feel larger and more open for entertaining, while the bedrooms and other private spaces have lower, more intimate ceilings, making the spaces feel cozier and more secluded.

1. Flexibility & Customization

Unlike other prefab options such as modular or manufactured homes, our panelized prefabrication process allows full customization without limits. Each of our clients work with our team of experienced Project Directors and talented architects to custom design their dream home from the ground up – no cookie-cutter designs here! Once the desired design has been achieved, we panelize the components in a “kit of parts” (rather than modules), and ship the house package to its building site without limitations.

2. Precision Joinery

Because our homes are fabricated in our 85,000 square foot climate-controlled environment, our homes are built with tighter tolerances, enhanced fit, higher structural integrity than a home built fully on site. Plus, these benefits do not stop when construction ends – our method results in higher energy efficiency that can be felt throughout the life of the home.

3. Sustainability

We pre-cut and pre-assemble each home’s components in our factory, which allows us to creatively repurpose nearly 100% of all excess material in-house, thus minimizing on-site building waste. We incorporate passive solar benefits into all of our designs for enhanced energy efficiency in every season and also have experience integrating solar panels, geothermal systems, green material and more. This avoids excess material being stored on site, subject to weather exposure. Our controlled approach to building allows for more financial predictability throughout the project than can be found with other building methods. Introducing Truro Treehouse: A Modern Farmhouse on Cape Cod

Sited on a parcel of land abutting the Cape Cod National Seashore, this modern farmhouse embraces both its coastal and wooded surroundings. The 2,600-square-foot home, fittingly named Truro Treehouse , sits perched atop a hill overlooking acres of private forest and beautifully landscaped gardens. It features exposed post and beam construction, which not only brings beauty and warmth to the interior but also allows for cathedral ceilings and expansive walls of glass, blurring the line between indoors and out.

The homeowners first came to us with their remote Cape Cod building site looking for our help in designing and building their dream home. Our talented local architects were up for the task and worked closely with the clients to understand their needs in order to create a modern floor plan that would be versatile enough for their everyday lifestyle. The resulting modern farmhouse became the perfect haven for the owners as well as their golden retrievers, Seaweed and Tide.

The entry opens into a gallery hall with walls on which the homeowners display their collection of local art and photography. The hall opens in two directions: one way to the mudroom and powder room and one way to the common area. The open floor plan seamlessly blends living spaces with the outdoors by creating an open concept living room, kitchen, and dining room that connects with the outdoor entertaining area, where both humans and dogs enjoy spending their days. The home was built with dog-friendly features throughout, including durable finishes, an indoor dog wash station, and even dog bowls built into the custom kitchen cabinets.

The common area leads to a private first floor master bedroom suite, which was an important design consideration for future accessibility. The suite features a large bedroom, bathroom, and private porch, connecting the home with nature and inviting the outdoors in. The home also includes two additional bedrooms and an additional bathroom in the walkout basement.

Truro Treehouse features low maintenance exterior materials, including Hardie Plank siding, Azek trim, Pella Windows, and TimberTech decking, to help weather the New England seasons with ease. As avid gardeners, the homeowners have also outfitted the landscape beautifully with trees, shrubbery, and various other flora that can be enjoyed year-round.

In order to make this home a reality, our architectural team worked closely with a local custom home builder , who was responsible for the on-site construction. While the builder prepared the site, we panelized the design and fabricated the components in our factory to expedite the custom home building process and create a more energy efficient home. Once the builder was ready to begin the on-site construction, we shipped the house package in manageable loads to the site, where the builder was able to quickly assemble our prefab kit of parts, efficiently frame the home’s weathertight shell, and rapidly get the home “under roof.”

The final result is the perfect blend of cozy comforts and modern style, set on its own piece of Cape Cod paradise.

Introducing Seaside Modern: A Contemporary Custom Built Home

Nestled amongst the sandy dunes of Cape Cod, Seaside Modern is a custom home that proudly showcases a modern beach house style. This new construction home draws inspiration from the classic architectural characteristics of the area, but with a contemporary house design, creating a custom built home that seamlessly blends the beauty of New England house styles with the function and efficiency of modern house design.

The owners of Seaside Modern came to us with their dreams of building a house on Cape Cod. They already owned their building site and were searching for an experienced architect and custom home builder that could design and build a unique home that fit their land, their needs, and their budget. We were excited to take on their project and custom design their modern vacation home.

Our new construction team worked closely with the owners to design a custom modern house plan that perfectly suited the family’s needs. In lieu of a formal dining and living room, the house was designed with an informal, open concept great room that connects the kitchen, living room, and dining room. The walls of glass, double sliding door, and upper clerestory windows embrace the natural light and the expansive decks make for an extended outdoor entertaining space.

The open floor plan leads to a private hall that houses the residence’s four modern bedrooms and its three-and-a-half minimal bathrooms. The two bedrooms on the entry floor have access to the main meranti deck and outdoor sitting areas, and the two bedrooms on the upper level each have a private bal cony with our popular Atlantis Rail s tainless steel cable railing option, which features our custom-crafted mahogany top rail.

A lthough Seaside Modern is a contemporary design, the home was designed to mimic some traditional New England architectural features, such as cedar shake siding and white painted trim, with alternatives like James Hardie fiber cement shingles and trim to tie into the aesthetic of the neighborhood. That, plus the aluminum-clad Pella Windows , both proudly distributed by Acorn Deck House Company and included in this custom house package, help cr eate a low maintenance home that can easily weather every season.

O nce our team had perfected the modern house design, we referred the owners to a local custom home builder withi n our network of preferred builders to complete the on-site construction. While the builder prepared the site, we panelized the design and fabricated the components in our factory to expedite the custom home building process and create a more energy efficient home. Once the builder was ready to begin the on-site construction, we shipped the house package in manageable loads to the site, where the builder was able to quickly assemble our prefab kit of parts, efficiently frame the home’s weathertight shell, and rapidly get the home “under roof.”

The home was finished with fun, modern features such as polished concrete floors, glass backsplash, and chalkboard fireplace per the owners’ wishes. The final result is a unique home design that is perfect for both large family gatherings and quiet evenings watching the sunset.

Dear Valued Customer,

As of tomorrow, all non-essential Massachusetts businesses have been ordered to close to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19); however, since Acorn Deck House Company falls into an essential service category, we will remain open and available to serve you during this time.

The health and safety of our employees, customers and community is always our top priority. Therefore, we have enacted the following preventative measures, effective immediately:

Over the next few weeks, several of our employees will be working remotely. They will have full access to our phone and computer systems, so phone and email support should be unaffected by this change. Introducing the Lincoln Deck House

Tucked away in the mountains of New Hampshire, this recently-completed Deck House is small yet mighty.

With a grand total of 1,247 square feet of living space, this 2-bedroom and 2-bathroom home was designed to efficiently utilize every bit of its floor plan.

The Lincoln’s glorious soaring ceilings and walls of glass make the interior feel open, airy and much larger than its actual footprint.

The home was designed with sustainability in mind and features deep overhangs to complement its large, south-facing windows and maximize the site’s passive solar benefits. These design features welcome the winter sun with its natural warmth while offering shade and cooling from the summer heat.

The Lincoln was designed to be a comfortable yet durable sanctuary for its owners with low-maintenance elements such as fiber-cement siding and composite decking.

Introducing Beautiful, New Acorn Home Overlooking Buzzards Bay

Welcome to the Seaside Escape, a one-of-a-kind Acorn Home perched on the edge of Buzzards Bay. We had the opportunity to spend the day at this magnificent home last month, and are thrilled to share the photos with you.

When we arrived for our visit, we pulled into the home’s horseshoe driveway and were greeted by its panoramic ocean views. Finished last year, this 3-bedroom/3-bathroom home features a carport and one-bay garage, with an extensive storage capacity.

The home’s open floor plan provided us with an ocean view from almost every room in the house, and its numerous windows allowed daylight to shine throughout. The dark stained floors were complemented by bright wall colors and raised ceilings, which created a sense of comfort without closing in the space.

The home boasts an impressive 3,200 square feet of living space, but the personal touches that we found inside made it feel cozy.

Some key features that we enjoyed were its unique roof deck with gas fireplace and bonus loft living room.

This home showcased how traditional and contemporary architecture can blend seamlessly, with its striking roofline, wraparound porch and airy interior. The stonework, cedar shingles and detailed accents all also paid homage to traditional New England architecture that we saw throughout its coastal neighborhood.

As we left for the day, we said “goodbye” to our new friend Reggie (the resident fur-baby) and promised to return again to spend another day on Buzzards Bay.

Acorn Deck House Company has built the newest evolution of the famous mid-century modern Deck House in Acton, Massachusetts. Using our prefabrication system, the new Deck House model home, Partridge Pond , was designed and built in the Acton company’s factory.

From 1947 until today, Acorn Deck House Company has built over 20,000 homes worldwide with more than 2,500 in Massachusetts alone. Acorn Deck House Company continues to design and manufacture custom homes everywhere from Maine to California, Israel to Mongolia, and currently has 40 custom homes and additions in various stages of production.

One of the recently completed projects is Acorn Deck House Company’s new Deck House model home in Acton, MA. The new home, Partridge Pond, is a contemporary take on the classic Deck House. Its open floor plan welcomes guests into the home, while still maintaining a sense of privacy in the master wing and upstairs bedrooms. It features an exposed post and beam structure throughout as well as the signature Deck House ceiling decking in the great room and master suite.

The goal for Partridge Pond was to showcase a mid-century modern and contemporary hybrid that inspires Deck House lovers, old and new. This special home is the first Deck House to be built in Acton in nearly 20 years.

Snow Load Information

Deck House Snow Load Information

Deck Houses are designed and built to withstand the test of time and weather. The average Deck House roof system was generally designed for an approximate snow load of at least 40 lbs. per sq. ft. if 8′ O.C. bays; however, we recommend calling an experienced Deck House builder or structural engineer if you are unsure of your roof’s ability to hold the weight of standing/predicted snow.

Please see this document from several years ago for estimated snow weight per sq. ft. to see if there may be a reason to remove snow from your roof by a professional or if you need to add additional support to rafters or ridge. This information applies to posts, beams and roof decking in good condition. This information does not apply to compromised posts, beams or roof decking. Please use this information at your own discretion.

Acorn Deck House Company homes are inherently energy-efficient to take advantage of passive solar heating and cooling. However, some simple replacements and updates to your older home can further improve energy-efficiency, and offer you great energy-saving benefits as well!

Replacing Weather Strip

The easiest, yet one of the most effective ways to save energy during the summer and winter is by replacing your weather strip. Weather strip is a barrier that fits into a groove on the edge of our mahogany windows, doors and sliders to help insulate the edges of operable units. Older types of weather strip (the ones original to your Deck House) may have worked well initially, but could not withstand the test of time. Today, they are most likely dry, shriveled and ineffective. Our new replacement weather strip is made from a thick and sturdy foam, which will effectively prevent unwanted airflow between the indoors and outdoors, saving you energy.

Roof Insulation

Your home’s roof insulation can greatly influence your energy savings. Roof insulation codes are changing constantly and vary greatly by location, so what was standard 50 years ago is completely different today. If you are planning to reroof your home, consider adding insulation as well. This can be a costly undertaking, but could be worthwhile depending on your energy savings. Do you love your home, but not the drafty metal windows, sliders and glass that came with it? Our replacements may be the answer to your problem. Unlike the glass you may currently find in your home, the glass that we use is argon-filled, Solarban 60 with a low-e coating. Our mahogany replacement units are made to fit inside your existing openings, ensuring you will not lose any visible glass. Countless owners that replaced their windows and sliders say that their only regret is that they didn’t do it sooner!

Roger Williams University Visit

Students Experience Acorn Deck House Company

Many students study the methods of prefabrication, but few have the opportunity to experience it first-hand. However, Architect and professor Jack Ryan wanted to ensure his students received a fully immersive experience by visiting Acorn Deck House Company and seeing how our panelized system comes to life. Ryan’s twelve students, all in their fourth or fifth year at Roger Williams University in the School of Architecture, spent the afternoon with Acorn Deck House Company’s Design Manager Michael Hawkes.

Hawkes guided the students through our 85,000 s.f. factory and showed them how each manufacturing department plays their role in creating our beautiful, custom homes. The students were filled with questions, which Hawkes and the factory craftsmen were happy to answer.

Afterwards, Hawkes led the students around our main office and up to the Design Department, where he showed them a walk-through of our process and some of our current designs.

Finally, on their way out of town, Hawkes brought the students on a special visit to our model home, Partridge Pond. The home was still under construction and a great way for the students to see our process come to life!
