My building site presents some specific challenges, can you work with them?
Yes. We have extensive experience designing and manufacturing homes for some of the most challenging or specific site requirements. These include steep slopes, rocky terrains, extreme climate conditions, high wind velocity, and taking advantage of spectacular views — or blocking out less desirable ones.
How will my home stand up to extreme weather conditions?
As a result of our sound engineering methods, Acorn Deck House Company homes have performed as well as, if not better than, their conventionally built neighbors in hurricanes, earthquakes, and high winds. The post and beam structure is specially designed with proprietary connection hardware that satisfies seismic codes and performs very well in extreme conditions. If your location has unusual local characteristics, such as extreme snow loads, we will design to those criteria.
Can I build in a remote area?
You can build an Acorn Deck House Company house almost anywhere! Your custom home’s structural components will be engineered and manufactured at our Massachusetts factory and shipped directly to your building site. This system allows you to retain control of your project whether it is down the street or half way around the world. Your contractor will be thoroughly trained on our building systems, so you can be sure that the outcome will be predictable, timely, and within your budget.
I am interested in a site, but don’t know if it is right for the home I want to build?
Once you find a site that interests you, our Client Project Director will gladly walk it with you to discuss the implications that the location may have on your future home’s design.
